What is BrickCraft Studio?

An interactive design tool to visualize and create custom brickwork patterns for home facades and architectural projects.

Who is BrickCraft for?

BrickCraft is ideal for homeowners, architects, designers and builders who want to create distinctive brick façades rather than relying on standard brick layouts. Whether you're building a contemporary home or drawing inspiration from classic architectural brickwork, BrickCraft helps bring your ideas to life.

Why would I use BrickCraft?

BrickCraft is unique in giving you complete control over your brick pattern design. Most tools and builders simply let you pick a brick and accept a standard layout. BrickCraft lets you design the pattern itself — the bond, the colour blending, the placement of accent bricks, and the overall composition of your façade. Whether you want a classic running bond, a custom blend of colours, or a one-of-a-kind pattern arranged exactly the way you envision, BrickCraft puts that control in your hands. It bridges the gap between a generic brick selection and a truly individual, designed façade that reflects your style.

What makes BrickCraft different?

Most people choose a brick. BrickCraft lets you design a façade. Instead of accepting a standard brick layout, you create an exterior that’s distinctive, individual and designed by you.

Can I design my own brick façade?

Yes. That's exactly what BrickCraft is designed for. Instead of choosing from standard builder brickwork, you can create a façade that reflects your own style using custom brick patterns and colour combinations.

Does BrickCraft design my house?

No. BrickCraft is not a house design or architectural drafting program. It does not design floor plans, rooflines, windows, doors, garages or landscaping. Your architect, building designer or builder remains responsible for the overall design of your home. BrickCraft focuses exclusively on the design of your brick façade.

Does BrickCraft provide building plans?

No. BrickCraft creates concept designs to help you visualise and communicate your ideas. The designs are not construction drawings and should not be used for building without review by your builder or design professional.

Can my builder construct my BrickCraft design?

In most cases, yes, but every project is different. Your builder and bricklayer will need to review your design to ensure it is practical, structurally suitable and complies with local building requirements.

Does BrickCraft estimate building costs?

No. BrickCraft does not provide house construction costs, bricklaying costs, material quantities or project estimates. Construction costs vary depending on the builder, location, materials, labour and the complexity of the design.

Why do my brick colours appear to change when I change the mortar colour?

This is a visual effect known as "simultaneous contrast." Your eyes perceive a colour relative to the colours surrounding it. When bricks are set against bright white mortar, the contrast makes the bricks appear more vibrant and saturated. When the same bricks are set against a warmer, darker mortar (such as a buff or cream tone), the reduced contrast causes your eyes to perceive the bricks as slightly more muted or washed-out, even though the actual brick colour has not changed. BrickCraft renders each brick as a solid, opaque colour — the mortar colour only fills the gaps between bricks and does not blend with or tint the brick faces. If you look closely at an individual brick you will see its colour is identical regardless of the mortar chosen; the difference is purely how your eye interprets the overall pattern.

Are the brick colours shown accurate?

The colours displayed on this website are approximate representations only. Colour matches between different paint and brick manufacturers have been estimated using available colour data and should be used as a guide only. Different suppliers produce products using different materials and manufacturing processes, so exact colour matches cannot be guaranteed.

Why do colours look different on my screen?

Actual colours may vary due to differences in manufacturing processes, material finishes, lighting conditions, and the calibration, settings and colour accuracy of your computer, tablet or mobile device. Every monitor, tablet and mobile phone displays colour differently, which means the colours you see on screen may differ from the actual product.

How should I choose my final brick colour?

We recommend viewing physical product samples and confirming your colour selection with the relevant manufacturer or supplier before making any final purchasing or construction decisions. Natural daylight provides the most accurate representation of colour, texture and finish.

Can I use BrickCraft with any brick manufacturer?

Yes. BrickCraft is designed to help you develop façade patterns regardless of the brick manufacturer you ultimately choose. Where colour equivalents are shown between different paint and brick manufacturers, they have been estimated using available colour data and should be considered approximate matches only.

What features are limited or unavailable on the free plan?

The free plan lets you design a single-level façade, paint up to 20% of your bricks, and browse the brick and cladding catalogues. The following features are restricted or unavailable without a Premium subscription: saving, loading and exporting designs; cloud storage for your designs; unlimited brick painting (free is capped at 20%); and multi-level façade design (Levels 2 and 3). Premium also includes all future premium features as they are released.

Can I save or load my designs on the free plan?

No. Save, load and export functions are not available on the free plan. If you close your browser or refresh the page, your current design will be lost. To save your designs to the cloud, reopen them later, and export them to share with your builder or designer, you’ll need a BrickCraft Premium subscription.
